Louis Carillon, Puligny Montrachet Perrieres 1er Cru, 1992
Louis Carillon is widely revered as one of the finest producers in Puligny-Montrachet, known for a classic, mineral-driven style that ages beautifully. The 1992 Les Perrières 1er Cru is a mature white Burgundy that showcases the elegance of Chardonnay. Expect notes of hazelnut, dried citrus, honeyed stone fruit, and a lingering, saline finish. 【 Consistent top-tier Puligny-Montrachet producer 】
Pair with grilled lobster, roasted scallops, or creamy mushroom risotto to highlight its texture.
This wine is at a stage where it should be treated with respect. While not as fragile as a century-old bottle, the cork may still be soft. Open carefully and allow it to breathe for about 20-30 minutes. Serve at a slightly warmer temperature than a young white to allow the complex, developed aromatics to shine.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Louis Carillon is a former wine estate in Puligny-Montrachet, France. It developed a worldwide reputation for its Chardonnay wines principally from that village. Chardonnay is the primary grape varieties featured. In 2010, Carillon's sons decided to split the 11-hectare (27-acre) estate into separate entities, forming Domaine François Carillon and Domaine Jacques Carillon.
