FEATURES
The 2023 Burgundy vintage was a rare combination of quality and quantity, offering a straightforward growing season with a plentiful crop of ripe fruit. While there were early fears that the warmth might lead to a lack of freshness, the wines have pleasantly surprised producers with admirable ripe fruit purity, freshness, complexity, minerality, and restrained elegance. The reds are surprisingly concentrated without being over-ripe, aromatic, and perfumed with clean, pure aromas of blue or red berries and pronounced floral notes. They are charming and transparent, reflecting the individual nuances between villages and vineyards.
Domaine Faiveley's Nuits-Saint-Georges Village "Les Montroziers" 2023, made from 100% Pinot Noir, exhibits an intense garnet red hue. The nose offers delightful woody, fruity, and spicy aromas, blending harmoniously in a generous and expressive bouquet, with notes of fruit, oak, and spice. The palate reveals a smooth, rich attack, followed by velvety tannins and good balance. It is medium to full-bodied, combining the structure of Nuits-Saint-Georges with a delicate and seductive style. The finish is long, elegant, and lightly spiced, with freshness supporting the ripe fruit. Some tasting notes also mention black cherry, ripe raspberry, plum skin, violet, clove, and a touch of forest floor. 【Charming and elegant, with a classic Nuits-Saint-Georges structure】
🍴 This Nuits-Saint-Georges pairs beautifully with roast chicken, duck, pork, lamb, mushroom dishes, beef stew, charcuterie, and soft cheeses. It also works wonderfully with dishes like mushroom pithivier, lentils with roasted root vegetables, or truffle-laden pasta, where the earthy elements mirror the wine's savoury core.
🥂 This wine is perfect for a celebratory dinner, a special occasion, or simply to enjoy with a gourmet meal. It offers early drinking pleasure but also has serious aging potential, easily 10 to 15 years, as it softens and opens into something more layered and complex.
