FEATURES
The 2009 Domaine La Roquète Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge showcases a Burgundian-like delicacy and balance, a hallmark of this up-and-coming producer under the Brunier family's full control for over a decade. This vintage is celebrated for being one of the purest expressions of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
On the nose, expect vivid ruby hues with highly perfumed notes of spring flowers, sweet cherries, black currants, forest floor, and spice. Further exploration reveals raspberry, cassis, graphite, baking spice, sweet earth, herbs, and star anise. Some tasters also detect oak, chocolate, tobacco, dark fruit, leather, smoke, cocoa, and a hint of molasses. The palate is medium to full-bodied, elegant, pure, and well-balanced, offering a silky, round, and fleshy texture with good acidity and fine tannins. 【 Burgundian-like delicacy and balance 】
🍴 Food Pairing: This versatile red pairs wonderfully with lamb, pork, and poultry. It's also an excellent match for BBQ chicken, or more adventurous dishes like Ants Climbing a Tree or Asian Pork Tenderloin.
🥂 Event Fit: While some suggested drinking this wine through 2020, it can still be enjoyed now, especially if you have bottles in your cellar. It's perfect for a special dinner or a sophisticated BBQ. As this is a 17-year-old wine, expect some graceful aging. Old corks can be fragile, so use a proper corkscrew. Decanting for 30-60 minutes can help it open up and shed any sediment, revealing its full complexity. Serve slightly below room temperature.
