FEATURES
The 2006 vintage for Vincent Dauvissat's Chablis La Forest was noted for its impressive concentration, with the wines completing both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation by January. While initially tight, these wines were built for aging, suggesting they would benefit from 10-12 years of cellaring. This Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Le Forest 1er Cru 2006 displays a golden color. The bouquet is deep, cool, and classy, offering notes of apple, orange, grapefruit, flint, and a touch of hay. It can also present effusive aromas of peony, citrus, and peach, with a superb, slightly honeyed character, touches of canelés, melted butter, and subtle nutty notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied, deep, and very precise, with great transparency, bright acids, and a very long, soil-driven finish. It shows a strikingly bitter-sweet alternation of peach and citrus with a peach kernel-like cyanic bitterness, deep chalkiness, and amazing grip and length. Some tasters also noted a balanced, taut, fresh, and lightly spiced profile with fine acidity and hints of butterscotch, walnut, and smoke, being very persistent. Aromas of limestone, citrus, and honey, with a pleasant slight fatness combined with lovely acidity and mineral tones on the palate, are also characteristic. 【 Rivals Grand Cru quality 】
