The 2015 Antinori Ampio delle Mortelle is a blend of Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, representing the fullest expression of Maremma's terroir. The vintage was characterized by a winter with frequent rainfall, followed by excellent spring weather and a warm, dry summer with peak temperatures in July. Occasional August rains aided ripening, and the unique exposure of the Ampio vineyards, touched by afternoon breezes and significant day-night temperature swings, helped develop spicy aromatic notes and elegant structure.
【 An exceptional vintage reflecting Maremma's terroir 】 This wine displays a very dark and intense ruby red color. On the nose, it offers seductive aromas of black pepper and mint, fusing with pleasurable notes of blackberry, blackcurrants, and blueberries, along with floral scents. Delicate hints of dark chocolate and liquorice complete the bouquet. The palate is generous, enveloping, and complex, supported by a firm and silky tannic texture. It concludes with a deep, long, spicy, and elegant finish and aftertaste.
Food Pairing: This bold and structured red Bordeaux blend (SuperTuscan Blend) would pair beautifully with classic meat dishes such as beef and venison.
Event Suggestions: Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party, a special anniversary celebration, or as a thoughtful gift for a wine connoisseur.
