wine serving
What are the recommended serving temperature, decanting time, and drink window for this wine? Should I use an Ah-So opener?
For this 1977 Giuseppe Quintarelli Valpolicella Classico Superiore, serve at 16-18°C. Decanting is highly recommended for at least 1-2 hours to allow it to breathe and to separate any sediment from its long aging. This is a very mature wine, best enjoyed now. Given its age (over 20 years), we highly recommend using an Ah-So opener to protect the delicate cork.

Quintarelli's Valpolicella Classico Superiore, especially from this vintage, is renowned for its profound complexity, exhibiting notes of dried cherries, spices, tobacco, and earthy undertones, with a lingering finish. It pairs exceptionally well with rich, slow-cooked Asian dishes such as red braised pork belly, Korean BBQ short ribs, or hearty mushroom-based stews.
