Bertheau, Chambolle Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru, 2023
Red
750ml
Label : Good Label
Level : Neck Level
Capsule : Good Capsule
The 2023 Domaine François Bertheau Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru comes from a hot and dry growing season, which was fortunately saved by significant rain in June. This allowed the vines to endure the summer heat and drought, leading to ideal sanitary conditions and a modest yet concentrated vintage. François Bertheau noted that the 2023 vintage produced "exceptionally fresh wines despite the elevated warmth," with a riper profile and dark fruit, yet still fresh and expressive of its terroir. This Premier Cru is widely regarded for its Grand Cru quality, often outshining other Grand Crus, and is produced in extremely limited quantities from 40-45 year-old vines.
This wine offers a bouquet of floral and exotic spice notes, followed by candied raspberry and hints of English tea and woodsmoke on the palate. It is medium-bodied, poised, and tender, with svelte tannins and a long finish that creates a rounded yet intense experience. Other notes mention delicate red fruit (raspberry, strawberry) and subtle floral notes (rose, violet), with a rich, concentrated palate supported by well-integrated oak and silky tannins. 【Its reputation as a Premier Cru delivering Grand Cru quality, often surpassing its peers, combined with its very limited production, makes it exceptionally desirable.】
🍴 Ideal food pairings include roasted or stewed meats such as poultry, veal, lamb, or feathered game, as well as mild cheeses. It also pairs well with beef and venison.
🥂 Prized for its lush elegance and opulent full body, this wine can age effortlessly for years, yet it is also approachable in its youth. It's perfect for special occasions, intimate dinners, or as a thoughtful gift for a Burgundy enthusiast. Serve at 16-17°C. While enjoyable now, decanting for an hour or two can help it express its full potential.
