The 2022 vintage for Francois Bertheau's Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru is already showing immense promise, with critics noting its fruit-forward and hedonistic character. It's described as being 'open for business' now, yet possessing significant potential for further development in the cellar. 【Beautifully floral nose with pure red fruit and elegant complexity】 defines this wine, offering delicate red fruit, an earthy mineral edge, and refined acidity. Expect notes of blueberries, violet, hay, sweet spice, and earth, with a layered and elegant profile. Some tasters also detect a touch of coffee on the finish. Burghound notes its seductive, medium-bodied flavours with good mid-palate density and persistence.
Food pairing suggestions: This elegant red Burgundy would be a superb match for roasted duck breast with cherry sauce, pan-seared guinea fowl, mushroom risotto, or a classic coq au vin. For a lighter option, consider a delicate goat cheese salad.
Event suggestions: Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party or a gathering of discerning wine enthusiasts who appreciate the nuanced beauty of young, high-quality Burgundy. It's also an excellent choice for a special anniversary or a celebratory meal.
