FEATURES
Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, with over 500 years of history, is a cornerstone of Burgundian legend and considered by many to be the greatest estate in Chambolle-Musigny, if not all of 布根地. The 2014 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru from Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé is a red wine made from 100% Pinot Noir. The 2014 布根地 vintage had a difficult start but still managed to produce a good vintage, with a mild and dry spring leading to early budburst and flowering, followed by warm conditions until a violent hailstorm. This wine is known for its delicate aromas, refined yet profound flavors, and a silky finish, capable of dazzling for more than 30 years.
Neal Martin of Wine Advocate described the 2014 Bonnes Mares Grand Cru as having an intriguing and complex bouquet, equidistant between red and black fruit, with earthbound scents of potter's wheel and woodland. The palate leans towards the red fruit spectrum, very saline, and quite Musigny-like in style with fine structure and a long, delicately spiced aftertaste, suggesting it will become a cerebral Bonnes-Mares. Other tasting notes include aromas of blueberries, dark raspberries, light pepper, and spice, with profound, energetic, sweet tannins. Allen Meadows of Burghound noted a much earthier array of notably fresh red berries and discreet sauvage aromas, with excellent richness to the muscular and full-bodied flavors, fine mid-palate concentration, and a very firm tannic spine. This firmly structured effort will require 15 to 20 years to reach its peak.
🍴 This Grand Cru pairs wonderfully with duck breast with dried fruit, oeufs en meurette, rare lamb chops with herbs, and aged Comte cheese. It also complements duck, goose, and game birds.
🥂 This is a wine for significant milestones and celebrations, a truly special occasion bottle that demands attention and appreciation. Given its age and potential for further evolution, consider decanting for an hour or two to allow its complex aromas to fully unfold. Ensure the cork is handled with care, as older vintages can be more fragile. Serve at around 16-18°C (60-64°F). 【Burgundy legend with 500+ years of history】
