FEATURES
The 2017 Gerard Bertrand Minervois La Liviniere Clos d'Ora is a distinguished French red wine, celebrated for its profound depth and complexity. The 2017 vintage masterfully balances intensity and finesse. This exceptional wine is certified Organic and Biodynamic, holding Demeter certification, with its vineyard meticulously farmed using only horse traction and grapes harvested entirely by hand. It is a harmonious blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Carignan, aged for 12 months in oak barrels followed by another 12 months in bottle.
On the nose, captivating aromas of crushed violets, cassis, cedar, and savoury Mediterranean spice greet the senses. The palate unfolds with complex layers of blackberry, dark plum, graphite, and wild garrigue herbs, leading to a powerful, lingering finish with firm tannins and deep mineral persistence. Its appearance is a deep, opaque ink-violet core with brilliant, polished crimson edges. Further tasting notes reveal berries, milk chocolate, menthol, grilled herbs, and tapenade, with a medium body, polished tannins, and a round, mellow, supple character, accented by spices. 【 Certified Organic and Biodynamic with Demeter certification, farmed by horse traction 】.
Food pairing suggestions include roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses. It pairs wonderfully with grilled lamb chops, and is best enjoyed at 17°C with grilled, matured, or slow-cooked Aubrac beef, meat in sauce, or soft-rind cheeses.
This versatile red is a perfect companion for both casual meals and special occasions. It is drinking beautifully now and possesses excellent ageing potential, expected to evolve gracefully over the next decade. Decanting for one hour before serving is recommended to allow its full character to emerge.
