FEATURES
The 2019 Jean Jacques Confuron Cote de Nuits Villages Les Vignottes comes from a certified organic winery with a rich lineage of Burgundy royalty. The current winemaker, Louis Confuron, continues the family's legacy by emphasizing aromatics and charm over sheer power, aiming for better acidity and a more elegant style. This particular cuvée is sourced from two adjacent organically-farmed vineyards, Les Vignottes, planted in the 1980s next to the village of Fixin, and benefits from 30% whole bunch vinification.

This wine displays an imperial purple color. It offers a robust yet intense bouquet, with inky depths and sucrous raspberry fruit, leading to excellent length. While moderately reduced when young, it blossoms with air, revealing better volume and an attractive texture, with delicious, succulent, and punchy medium-bodied flavors and a balanced, mildly rustic finish. Expect cooler, more blue-fruited notes than red, alongside aromas of cinnamon, star anise, and sage, with a mid-weight palate that gains gras and gravitas over time. Bright ruby-red, with aromas of cassis, black cherry, licorice, and spicy oak, it is juicy and smooth yet restrained, with a hint of chocolate and an elegant finish. The 2019 vintage is noted for its darker fruit, finer clarity and energy, and a more mineral style to the very long finish.
🍴 Food Pairing: This red Burgundy is weighty enough to stand up to a leg of lamb, yet lithe enough to complement grilled salmon. It also pairs well with duck, goose, and other game birds.
🥂 Event Fit: The 2019 Les Vignottes is drinking very well now and can be enjoyed over the next five or six years, or even from 2026 onwards, making it suitable for a range of dining occasions or for cellaring.
