Georges Mugneret Gibourg, Echezeaux Grand Cru, 2010
The 2010 Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Echezeaux Grand Cru hails from an extremely good vintage for Burgundy, though it saw a harsh winter and difficult flowering that reduced yields. This particular 2010 vintage has been described as so splendid that one critic could 【not recall ever tasting a greater young vintage of Echézeaux from Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg】. It offers a nascently complex nose of red and black cherries, plums, raw cocoa, gamebirds, intense violet notes, beautiful soil tones, and vanillin oak. On the palate, it is deep, full-bodied, pure, and sappy at its core, with stunning transparency, seamless ripe tannins, and laser-like focus, leading to a very long, dancing, and tangy finish. It is considered finer, more transparent, and with more nascent complexity than the 2005 version.
🍴 This exquisite red 布根地 pairs wonderfully with classic French cuisine, especially duck, goose, and other game birds. Its elegance also complements mushroom-based dishes or a fine beef bourguignon.
🥂 This is a wine for the patient connoisseur, requiring 12 to 15 years to fully realize its potential, with a drinking window extending from 2020 to 2075. It's perfect for a milestone celebration, a sophisticated dinner party, or as a prized addition to a serious cellar.
