🏰 The 1995 vintage in Saint-Émilion was marked by elegance and poise, with meteorological kindness culminating in a harvest offering both finesse and structure. Chateau Cheval Blanc 1995 is an exemplar of the Saint-Émilion terroir, considered an "outrageously decadent" wine. This vintage reveals an intricate ballet of ripe Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with a deep garnet hue leading to gracefully evolved aromatics of truffle, moist earth, overripe figs, dried roses, and tobacco. The palate offers a harmonious convergence of soft tannins and vivid acidity, with blackcurrant pastilles and a hint of bell pepper, showcasing impeccable quality control. 【An exemplar of Saint-Émilion terroir with "Category A" status, offering an outrageously decadent and long-lived experience】.
🍴 This complex and elegant red Bordeaux pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, beef ragu, grilled steak, and aged cheeses. Its earthy and truffle notes also make it a superb match for dishes featuring mushrooms.
🥂 A truly special wine for milestone celebrations, serious collectors, or an unforgettable fine dining experience. This wine is drinking beautifully now but has the structure and potential to continue evolving for many more years.
BACKGROUND
Chateau Cheval Blanc is a property in the Saint-Emilion region of Bordeaux, classified with the top ranking of Premier Grand Cru Classe A.The vineyard is located in the northwest of the region, bordering Pomerol – La Conseillante is a neighbor – and consists of 39 hectares (96 acres) divided into 45 plots. There is an unusually high amount of Cabernet Franc planted, about 49 percent, with 47 percent Merlot and 4 percent Cabernet Sauvignon. The unusual planting proportions reflect the terroir; most vineyards in the region are either clay or gravel-based over impermeable sedimentary rock, but Cheval Blanc is unique in having a patchwork of soils with the two types in roughly equal proportions. The clay soils provide base wines with velvety tannins, while those from gravel soils are more aromatic and elegant.
