FEATURES
The 2019 vintage in 布根地 (Burgundy) was marked by a scorching summer and very dry conditions, even drier than 2003. Despite challenges like a cold snap during budburst and powdery mildew pressure, the quality of red wines was exceptionally high. Armand Heitz is a rising star in Burgundy, known for sustainable viticulture with minimal interference, focusing on terroir-specific, transparent wines. He is even experimenting with permaculture, integrating other plants and animals into his vineyards to foster a harmonious ecosystem.
Clos des Poutures is a monopole vineyard, exclusively owned by Armand Heitz, producing wines of balance, pure fruit, and complexity. This Premier Cru surprises with its elegance and finesse, offering a departure from the sometimes rustic image of traditional Pommards. The wine presents a very deep magenta color. On the nose, expect dark raspberry, cassis, bergamot, terra cotta, fresh fig, and river rock, with pretty notes of sweet red and blue fruits. The palate is smooth, dry, and tart, with firm, medium-intensity tannins and a long finish. It's ripe, rich, and classic Pommard, boasting abundant minerality, good depth, dark red fruit, floral hints, and silky, balanced tannins.
🍴 Food pairing suggestions include duck, goose, and game birds. It pairs beautifully with all red meats, whether grilled or roasted in sauce, such as roasted shoulder of lamb. Veal and beef rillettes are also excellent choices.
🥂 This wine is ideal for connoisseurs seeking a powerful yet elegant and refined red Burgundy that embodies Burgundian winemaking expertise. It's perfect for special dinners or gatherings where a complex, terroir-driven Pinot Noir with aging potential is appreciated. 【Monopole vineyard showcasing elegance and finesse, breaking from traditional rustic Pommards, with a focus on permaculture】
