The 2024 vintage in Burgundy, while challenging due to heavy rainfall and mildew, has yielded exceptional white wines, often compared to the highly regarded 2014 and 2017 vintages. These whites are celebrated for their precision, vibrant acidity, and crystalline purity, offering a taut, mineral, and saline profile that promises excellent aging potential. Domaine Bernard Bonin, a husband-wife team, is renowned for crafting some of Meursault's finest whites through meticulous biodynamic farming, emphasizing soil health and resulting in wines of crystalline purity and mineral depth. Their Meursault Les Tillets, a village-level vineyard, consistently produces harmonious wines that beautifully balance white fruit, hazelnut, and butter notes with a delicate florality. Expect a wine with vibrant acidity, bright citrus, and a pronounced mineral backbone, possibly with subtle nutty undertones, showcasing elegance and freshness. 【 Crystalline purity and mineral depth from biodynamic farming 】.
🍴 This elegant Meursault is a superb match for rich fish like salmon or tuna, creamy pasta dishes, and mild, soft cheeses. It also complements roasted chicken or turkey beautifully.
🥂 Ideal for a sophisticated dinner party, a special occasion celebrating fine white Burgundy, or a quiet evening for connoisseurs appreciating a wine with significant aging potential.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Bernard-Bonin is a wine producer based in the town of Meursault, in the Côte de Beaune sub-region in the heart of Burgundy's Côte d'Or. Most of the winery's vineyards are located in the Meursault region, many of which are First Cru level, and it also owns some plots in neighboring Puligny-Montrachet. The estate produces only white wine, almost exclusively Chardonnay. In 1998 the domaine was taken over by husband-and-wife team Nicolas Bernard and Véronique Bonin, who manage 7 hectares (17 acres) of vineyards, including plots of Meursault's Genevrères and Charmes Premier Crus. Bernard-Bonin uses biodynamic methods and the estate has been certified organic since 2015.
