FEATURES
The 2017 Barolo Vite Talin is a "total stunner" and holds the top position in the Sandrone family portfolio, representing 30 years of Luciano Sandrone's dedicated work. This exceptional wine is crafted from a unique, low-yielding Nebbiolo clone known as "Talin," identified by the Sandrone family, with berries half the size of normal Nebbiolo, resulting in a more concentrated and dense wine. The 2017 vintage was marked by heat and drought, yet significant diurnal temperature swings helped mitigate the impact, leading to ripe, forward fruit. On the nose, it presents a brick red color with aromas of tobacco, sanguine iron, dried cherries, incense, toasted anise, and graphite. The palate is ripe and structured with grippy tannins, bright acidity, and remarkable persistence, revealing notes of super-ripe dark cherry, plum, spice, cedar, tobacco, and kirsch. Additional nuances include pressed blackberry, earth, clay, autumnal leaf, iodine, and candied orange. It is also described as dense with spiced cherries, plums, and crushed raspberries dusted with clove, cinnamon, and vanilla. 【Made from a unique, low-yielding Nebbiolo clone "Talin" and rated 100 points by Antonio Galloni】.
This Barolo pairs excellently with hearty and richly-flavored dishes such as tagliatelle al tartufo, risotto with ceps, saddle of lamb fillet with herb jus, Châteaubriand, Filet Wellington, or rabbit ragout with olives. It also complements strong game dishes, well-matured cheeses like Parmigiana Reggiano or Pecorino, and rich truffle risotto.
Ideal for a significant celebratory dinner, a sophisticated wine tasting, or a special occasion where a powerful and age-worthy red wine is desired. It's a wine that can be enjoyed now or cellared for decades.
