FEATURES
🏰 The 2010 Clos du Marquis, from Château Léoville Las Cases, is a highly regarded Bordeaux blend from the Saint-Julien appellation. The 2010 vintage in Bordeaux was exceptional, characterized by a hot and very dry April, followed by cooler temperatures in May and June, and then dry and sunny conditions in July and early August, leading to perfect grape ripening. This vintage is known for producing powerful, tannic, and reserved wines in their youth, often requiring significant aging. Clos du Marquis is considered on par with some of the region's prestigious classified growths, though it's made from grapes from a separate vineyard, distinguishing it from the estate's second wine. 【 An exceptional vintage from a prestigious estate, built for the long haul 】. Tasting notes for the 2010 Léoville Las Cases (which Clos du Marquis shares characteristics with) often describe a deep purple/ruby color, with pronounced notes of bing cherry, red plum, blueberry, violet/lilac, vanilla, cedar, flint, leather, and espresso. The wine exhibits high acidity and tannins, a full body, and a long finish. It is still very youthful and powerful, yet balanced, with plenty of freshness. It was aged in 85% new oak barrels.
🍴 This classic Bordeaux is best served with all types of classic meat dishes, including veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, and various roasted, braised, and grilled preparations. It also pairs well with Asian dishes, hearty fish courses like tuna, mushrooms, pasta, and a variety of cheeses.
🥂 Ideal for a grand dinner, a significant celebration, or as a cornerstone of a serious wine collection. It is a wine that demands patience, with an optimal drinking window suggested from 2020-2035, and often better with at least 15 years of bottle age. Young vintages can benefit from 3-6 hours of decanting.
