Jacques Prieur, Beaune Champs-pimont 1er Cru, 2019
🏰 The 2019 Jacques Prieur Beaune Champs-Pimont 1er Cru hails from a 【legendary Burgundy vintage】, with general consensus that 2019 was truly excellent, some might say legendary, for both red and white wines. The reds are complex, richly fruit-forward, and refined, with the best examples likely to cellar for decades. The 2019 vintage is praised for its balance between freshness and concentration, offering approachable, delicious, and consistent wines. Expect a wine that is generous, plush, and ripe without heaviness, with layers of expressive fruit and elegant tannins. It's a thrilling year for Pinot Noir, delivering wines bursting with head-turning perfume and fresh, succulent fruit.
🍴 This refined Beaune 1er Cru is a versatile food companion. It pairs beautifully with roasted poultry like duck or guinea fowl, pan-seared mushrooms, or delicate red meats such as veal or lamb. Earthy dishes with truffles or wild mushrooms would also be an excellent match.
🥂 An ideal choice for a celebratory dinner, a special gathering with fellow wine lovers, or as a prized addition to a Burgundy collection. This vintage is considered superb and highly ageworthy, making it a wise investment for the cellar.
Serving suggestion: Decant for 30-60 minutes to allow its aromas to fully develop. Serve at 16-18°C (61-64°F).
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jacques Prieur is a relatively large Burgundy producer that makes both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from esteemed vineyard holdings across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, France. The history of the domaine began in the 1860s, with the marriage of Claude Duvergey and Marie Taboureau. They first established the wine and spirits merchant business, Duvergey-Taboureau House, before buying property in Meursault – now the site of the modern Domaine Jacques Priuer.
