Anne Gros, Clos Vougeot Le Grand Maupertui Grand Cru, 2020
🏰 The 2020 Anne Gros Clos Vougeot Le Grand Maupertui Grand Cru, from a highly respected producer, hails from a 【very good Burgundy red vintage known for balanced wines and good concentration】. Clos Vougeot is celebrated as the 'standard bearer and emblem of the entire Cote d'Or', and Anne Gros's expression is particularly sought after. Expect a deep cherry red color and an intensely aromatic bouquet of concentrated red and black fruits like cherries, blackberries, and blackcurrants. The palate should be expressive, round, and muscular, with beautiful aromatic intensity, fine balance between mellow tannins and discreet acidity, and a solid structure for aging.
🍴 Chinese Cantonese food pairing: This powerful Grand Cru is an ideal companion for fine meats marinated or cooked in sauce, such as roasted leg of lamb with herbs, prime rib of beef, or rich game dishes like wild boar. It also pairs beautifully with well-made cheeses like Epoisses.
🥂 fit for event suggestion: A magnificent choice for a significant anniversary, a formal dinner, or a special gathering of Burgundy enthusiasts. It's a wine that commands attention and rewards patience, perfect for enjoying now after decanting, or for further cellaring to appreciate its evolving complexity.
