Anne Gros, Clos Vougeot Le Grand Maupertui Grand Cru, 2021
🏰【From one of Burgundy's top winemakers, Anne Gros, the 2021 Clos Vougeot Le Grand Maupertui Grand Cru is a testament to exceptional terroir, crafted from 80-year-old vines in a challenging vintage, yielding a wine of astonishing substance and charm.】 The 2021 vintage in Burgundy was difficult but surprisingly successful, with a focus on freshness and elegance. This Grand Cru is produced from 80-year-old vines in the "Le Grand Maupertui" lieu-dit, with soils of clay and limestone, and aged in French oak barrels. It offers pronounced aromas of ripe mulberry and plum with accents of earth and mineral. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded, velvety tannins, showing moderate depth and charm, alongside notes of purple wildflowers, black cherry, and light herbs.
🍴 Excellent with aged local French cheese, charcuterie, pork sausages with herbs, roasted duck, or mushroom risotto.
🥂 Ideal for fine dining, special occasions, or a dedicated Burgundy collector's tasting.
