Meo Camuzet, Chambolle Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru, 2017
🏰 The 2017 vintage in Burgundy was described as a "pretty" year, offering excellent approachability and drinkability, with higher quality wines showing good complexity. Picking took place between September 6th and 14th. These wines are noted for revealing their specific sites very well.
This wine presents a fine and pure nose with delicate red berries and floral notes. On the palate, it exhibits more scale and minerality, complemented by a subtle oak complexity on the finish. It's characterized as a delicious wine with genuine class, offering sweetness, roundness, and a fleshy texture. While it's considered a young wine that requires some patience, it is anticipated to provide significant pleasure over the next 5 to 10 years. 【 Excellent approachability and complexity in a "pretty" vintage 】
🍴 Pinot Noir, the grape variety, pairs wonderfully with duck, goose, and various game birds.
🥂 The 2017 vintage is regarded as graceful and flattering, making it enjoyable now, though Premier Crus and Grand Crus from this year possess notable aging potential. It is well-suited for occasions where an elegant, approachable, yet complex red Burgundy is desired.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Meo-Camuzet is located in the village of Vosne-Romanee, France. The estate employs organic fertilizers and advanced cultivation techniques to maintain ecological balance in the vineyards. Coupled with the exceptional terroir and the legacy of Henri Jayer, Jean-Nicholas' efforts have elevated the estate to a top-tier winery in just a few decades. In 2003, Jean-Nicholas founded the négociant business Méo-Camuzet Frères et Soeurs. Although the grapes are purchased, the team personally supervises the vineyards to ensure the quality of the grape sources.
