🏰 Bernard Bonin's Bourgogne Blanc Initiales BB 2023 is a 【seriously crafted, terroir-driven Chardonnay that acts as a 'baby Meursault'】, made with the same care and philosophy as the domaine's village and cru wines. This wine, sourced from plots around Meursault, is farmed organically and biodynamically. It displays a pale-gold color with silver reflections. The nose is expressive yet precise, offering white flowers, citrus, crisp orchard fruit, chalky minerality, almond, and a light buttery note. The palate is lively and pure, combining juicy fruit with saline tension, supple texture, well-integrated acidity, and a long, clean finish with hints of hazelnut and lemon zest.
🍴 This high-quality white Burgundy pairs beautifully with roast white meats, dishes with white sauces, fried foods, and even stinky cheeses. It also complements light salads and mild cheeses.
🥂 Perfect for an elegant lunch, a delightful aperitif, or a dinner with friends where a sophisticated yet approachable white Burgundy is desired.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Bernard-Bonin is a wine producer based in the town of Meursault, in the Côte de Beaune sub-region in the heart of Burgundy's Côte d'Or. Most of the winery's vineyards are located in the Meursault region, many of which are First Cru level, and it also owns some plots in neighboring Puligny-Montrachet. The estate produces only white wine, almost exclusively Chardonnay. In 1998 the domaine was taken over by husband-and-wife team Nicolas Bernard and Véronique Bonin, who manage 7 hectares (17 acres) of vineyards, including plots of Meursault's Genevrères and Charmes Premier Crus. Bernard-Bonin uses biodynamic methods and the estate has been certified organic since 2015.
