🏰M. Chapoutier's Ermitage Vin de Paille 2003 is a 【luxurious and intensely concentrated straw wine from a very hot Rhône vintage】, where grapes are dried to achieve exceptional richness. The 2003 vintage in the Rhône Valley was known for producing ripe and opulent wines, perfectly suited for this style. Expect intense aromas and flavors of 【dried apricots, honey, candied orange peel, nuts, and exotic spices】. The palate should be rich, sweet, and viscous, beautifully balanced by good acidity to prevent it from being cloying, offering a profound and lingering finish.
🍴 This opulent dessert wine is a classic pairing for foie gras, rich blue cheeses (like Roquefort), fruit tarts, crème brûlée, or simply enjoyed on its own as a digestif.
🥂 A truly luxurious dessert wine, perfect for a celebratory occasion, a special end to a gourmet meal, or as a thoughtful gift for a connoisseur. This wine is designed for long aging, and the 2003 vintage should be showing beautiful tertiary notes of dried fruits, caramel, and nuts. The cork and capsule should be handled with care.
BACKGROUND
Maison M. Chapoutier is one of the most recognizable producers in the Rhône Valley. It is known for its wines from both the north and south of the valley, but in particular for its red and white Hermitage wines, made from Syrah and a blend of Marsanne and Roussanne, respectively.Outside of the flagship vineyards in Hermitage, Chapoutier has vineyards across the Rhône, including plots in Côte Rôtie, Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Condrieu. These span both single-vineyard expressions and generic AOC-level wines. Chapoutier also makes regional Côtes du Rhône wines, and has viticultural interests in Australia (Domaine Tournon), Portugal and Alsace.
