Anne Gros, Chambolle Musigny La Combe D'orveau, 2003
🏰 Anne Gros Chambolle Musigny La Combe d'Orveau 2003 is a red Burgundy from a notoriously hot vintage. The 2003 Burgundy vintage was exceptionally hot and dry, leading to an early harvest and wines with high ripeness, sumptuous aromas, and supple tannins, though sometimes with lower acidity. Despite initial concerns about aging, many 2003 Burgundies have shown surprising complexity and longevity, with terroir emerging from behind the overt vintage character. Anne Gros is a highly respected producer known for crafting elegant and expressive Pinot Noirs. This particular wine, from the esteemed La Combe d'Orveau vineyard, would likely exhibit a rich, fruit-forward profile with the potential for intriguing tertiary notes. 【Intriguing expression from a challenging yet rewarding hot vintage】.
🍴 This mature and complex Pinot Noir pairs well with dishes that complement its richness and evolving flavors. For Eastern cuisine, consider roasted pigeon, delicate braised abalone, or a refined mushroom and truffle dish. Western pairings could include roasted game birds, duck confit, or a classic beef bourguignon.
🥂 Ideal for a contemplative tasting, a special anniversary, or a gathering of Burgundy aficionados. It's a wine that offers a unique snapshot of a memorable vintage and rewards careful appreciation.
