FEATURES
🏰 The 2015 Bibi Graetz Testamatta is a stunning Supertuscan, crafted from 100% Sangiovese grapes sourced from very old vines in Tuscany. The name "Testamatta" itself, meaning someone with a strong personality and creative attitude, perfectly encapsulates Bibi Graetz's philosophy. The 2015 vintage in Tuscany was excellent, characterized by a mild winter, a temperamental spring that replenished water tables, and an extremely warm summer with stable, sunny weather during harvest. This allowed for perfectly shaped grapes, resulting in a wine with incredible balance, concentration, elegance, structure, and finesse. 【 James Suckling rated it 99 points, calling it the best Testamatta ever made 】. It presents fascinating aromas of red fruits, tea, bark, wet soil, and fresh leather. On the palate, it's full-bodied with silky tannins and a juicy, long finish, showcasing persistence and intensity with a salty undertone. Other notes include blackberries, pepper, minerals, and blueberries, evolving into dried red cherries, rose petals, herbs, and tobacco with age. While gorgeous to taste now, it was noted to be even better after 2021, with a drinking window extending to 2032.
🍴 This bold and structured red Sangiovese pairs wonderfully with beef and venison. Its vibrant character also makes it an excellent match for spinach gratin with almonds, leek soup, pasta with sausage dumplings, hare, or a simple beef tenderloin with mushrooms.
🥂 An exceptional wine for any occasion, particularly suited for a happy meal with friends, a celebratory dinner, or a serious tasting where its complexity can be fully appreciated. Its aging potential also makes it a thoughtful gift for collectors.
