Amiot Servelle, Chambolle Musigny Les Bas Doix, 2021
Red
750ml
Label : Good Label
Level : Neck Level
Capsule : Good Capsule
🏰 The 2021 Domaine Amiot-Servelle Chambolle-Musigny Les Bas Doix is a promising expression from a challenging vintage, where the domaine was relatively happy with their yields despite significant losses in Burgundy. This wine embodies the classic expression of Pinot Noir from its terroir, benefiting from favorable weather conditions that allowed optimal ripening with good aromatic concentration and fresh acidity. It presents a clear and bright light garnet red appearance. The nose is expressive with aromas of red berries like cherry and raspberry, complemented by floral notes and soft spices. On the palate, it is elegant and silky, with fine tannins, lively acidity, and a persistent finish featuring fruity and subtle oaky hints. Some notes suggest a more direct style with an extra hint of structure and chalky tannins, with deep, rich fruit from heavy clay soil, though potentially lighter on mid-palate weight. The vinification is traditional, with aging in oak barrels, including some new oak, to bring finesse and elegant structure without overpowering the fruit. 【 Elegant and terroir-driven Pinot Noir 】
🍴 This elegant red Burgundy pairs beautifully with matured ribeye steak, herb-crusted rack of lamb, well-aged Époisses cheese, or fresh Brillat-Savarin. For Eastern cuisine, consider Cantonese roasted duck, delicate dim sum, or a light mushroom hotpot.
🥂 Ideal for refined business dinners, special family gatherings, or as a thoughtful gift for a Burgundy lover. A light decanting is recommended for this young wine to fully release its aromas.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Amiot Servelle is a leading wine producer based in the village of Chambolle-Musigny in Burgundy's Côte d'Or district, with seven hectares (17 acres) of Pinot Noir vines. This includes vines from six premier vineyards. The company produces a range of wines from the region's top vineyards, including wines from the renowned Les Amoureuses vineyard, dominated by Pinot Noir. The history of the winery can be traced back to the 1920s. The owner's grandfather began planting grape vines in the village, and his parents also founded a winery. The owner himself founded Domaine Amiot-Servelle in 1989.
