🏰 The 2021 vintage marks a new chapter for Alex Moreau, who began bottling wines under his own label, continuing centuries of family winemaking with a more individual vision. The domaine employs natural vineyard management, avoiding herbicides and pesticides, using only organic fertilizers, and harvesting solely by hand. The 2021 Burgundy vintage, as seen through barrel tastings, showed significant richness and intensity, with excellent density.
This Grand Cru Bâtard-Montrachet offers a cool, airy, and exceptionally pretty nose, subtly framed by wood, with notes of acacia blossom, citrus essence, spice, and a hint of jasmine tea. The medium-weight flavors display focused power and a lovely sense of vibrancy, leading to a beautifully delineated and tautly muscular finish that lingers. Expect crystal-clear fruit, intense minerality, and a fine, elegant fruit profile, showcasing enormous flavor pressure and wonderful elegance. Some tasters also note a light bacon touch to the concentrated white fruit, with a little bitterness and tension. The wine is pale lemon and lime in color. Its Chardonnay taste profile includes notes of citrus, stone fruit, oak, and minerality. 【A Grand Cru Bâtard-Montrachet from a new generation winemaker, showcasing crystal-clear fruit, intense minerality, and exceptional aging potential.】
🍴 This complex Chardonnay pairs well with classic poultry dishes such as roasted chicken and turkey. Its richness and minerality also make it suitable for rich seafood, dishes with creamy sauces, and roasted vegetables. Consider pairing with pan-seared scallops, lobster with butter sauce, or a delicate truffle risotto.
