Francois Carillon, Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Champs Gain, 2013
🏰 The 2013 vintage in Burgundy was a challenging yet rewarding year, producing white wines with notable freshness and acidity that are now beautifully expressive. This Francois Carillon Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Champs Gain 2013 is a 【superb example of a mature Puligny, showcasing elegance and a profound mineral core】. Expect delicate aromas of white flowers and citrus, evolving into subtle notes of toasted hazelnut and a hint of butter with its age. The palate is precise, with vibrant acidity and a long, refined finish.
🍴 This exquisite white Burgundy is a dream pairing for pan-seared scallops, grilled lobster, or rich fish like turbot in a beurre blanc sauce. It also beautifully complements roasted chicken with truffles or a fine aged Comté cheese.
🥂 Ideal for a sophisticated dinner party or a special celebration, this wine is drinking beautifully now but has the structure to continue evolving gracefully for several more years.
BACKGROUND
Domaine François Carillon is located in the heart of the village, managing around 16 hectares of vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Saint-Aubin. The vineyards are planted with 90% Chardonnay, with the remaining 10% consisting of Pinot Noir and Aligoté. François Carillon began winemaking with his father in 1988 and started his own domaine in 2010. In addition to inheriting 5 hectares of family vineyards, he acquired 1.5 hectares, establishing Domaine François Carillon.
