FEATURES
🏰 The 2009 Château La Tour Carnet is a modern-style Bordeaux, predominantly Merlot, known for its deep color and concentrated, fleshy character. The nose offers a perfume of coffee, licorice, black and blue fruit, and chocolate. On the palate, it's dense, full-bodied, and unctuously textured, with notes of charcoal, subtle toast, white chocolate, blueberry, blackberry liqueur, graphite, and licorice. While already accessible, it was noted in 2012 that its best days were still 5-7 years ahead, with potential to keep for a minimum of two decades. The blend, often around 60% Merlot, gives it an atypical profile for a Haut-Médoc, leaning towards tarry plum rather than the classic Left Bank cedar and cassis.
This structured and flavorful Bordeaux is ideal for a formal dinner, a special celebration, or any gathering where an impressive claret is desired. It's a wine that can truly shine. This wine is well within its optimal drinking window, but still benefits from careful preparation. Decanting for 1-2 hours is recommended to allow its complex aromas to fully develop and any potential sediment to settle. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F).
🍴 This rich Bordeaux pairs wonderfully with roasted lamb with rosemary, beef Wellington, grilled steak, or hard, aged cheeses. Its concentration and structure can handle robust and savory flavors.
