FEATURES
🏰 The 2006 vintage in Burgundy produced wines with a wide qualitative range, often showing beautiful ruby color and expressive, clean, pure bouquets. Joseph Drouhin's Echezeaux Grand Cru comes from an exceptional parcel with old vines, consistently producing excellent wine. Echezeaux is a Grand Cru vineyard of great repute, surrounded by Clos Vougeot and Musigny.
This wine is noted for its unsurpassed finesse and elegance, with superb structure and power, and great concentration and intensity compared to its neighbors. It displays a bright and intense color. The nose offers a full palette of aromas reminiscent of stone fruit (cherry, peach, apricot), cocoa, and exotic wood (cedar). As it matures, these aromas evolve towards nuances of undergrowth, truffle, fine leather, and sometimes light notes of cigar or cedar wood. On the palate, the texture is like silk and velvet, with a touch of dark chocolate in the extremely long aftertaste. It also presents a mélange of red, blue, and black fruits, as well as hoisin, clove, and anise. 【 A Grand Cru Burgundy of unsurpassed finesse and elegance from old vines, with excellent aging potential 】
🥂 A Joseph Drouhin Echezeaux Grand Cru is a wine for profound moments – a significant celebration, a serious tasting of Grand Cru Burgundy, or a luxurious dinner where the wine is the star. Its aging potential makes it a valuable addition to any cellar.
🍴 It pairs wonderfully with duck, goose, and game birds. Consider roasted duck, pheasant, or a rich mushroom risotto. It also complements smoked salmon.
