Anne Gros, Echezeaux Les Loachausses Grand Cru, 2020
🏰 The 2020 Anne Gros Echézeaux Les Loachausses Grand Cru is a monumental red Burgundy, 【embodying the craftsmanship of one of Burgundy's finest winemakers and harvested from 90-year-old Pinot Noir vines】. This vintage is celebrated for its impressive depth of flavor and complexity, showcasing a near-perfect expression of terroir. Initially bashful on the nose, it unfurls with light raspberry and blackberry scents entwined with rose petal and sous-bois. The palate is sensual, silky smooth, and harmonious, all about finesse and purity, with a caressing quality. Expect a lovely, dark and spicy berry fruit character accompanied by rich earthy notes and a firm mineral underpinning, culminating in a robust, powerful, and lingering finish.
🍴 This exquisite Pinot Noir is a superb match for sophisticated dishes such as roasted duck, pan-seared foie gras, truffle-infused risotto, or delicate game birds. Its elegance also complements fine cheeses.
🥂 An exceptional wine for collectors and connoisseurs, ideal for a grand celebration or a significant tasting event. While approachable now, this Echézeaux Grand Cru will require at least some patience and will benefit greatly from additional bottle age, promising to evolve beautifully over a decade or more. Serve at around 16°C (60°F) after decanting for 1-2 hours.
