FEATURES
🏰 Francois Lamarche's Vosne Romanee Les Chaumes 1er Cru 2004 hails from a village world-famous for its Grand Crus and exceptional Premier Crus. The 2004 Burgundy vintage for reds was generally considered good, producing elegant wines with good acidity and freshness, often requiring some bottle age to show their best. This 1er Cru, located near the prestigious Aux Malconsorts, is known for producing wonderfully aromatic wines from iron-based soil. Expect a wine with 【aromas of spices, liquorice, roses, toasted bread, and cocoa, with a mellow character sustained by discreet tannins and acidity】, showcasing the elegance that Vosne-Romanée wines are renowned for.
🍴 This elegant Vosne-Romanée is a superb companion for refined dishes. It pairs beautifully with game (venison, boar), red meat in a wine sauce or with mushrooms, and extra mature cheeses. Consider roasted guinea fowl, beef tenderloin with black truffles, or a classic coq au vin.
🥂 An ideal wine for a sophisticated dinner, a special celebration, or a vertical tasting of Vosne-Romanée. Its elegance and complexity make it a memorable experience. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F).
BACKGROUND
François Lamarche is a historic winery located in the village of Vosne-Romanée, France. The primary grape variety is Pinot Noir. The winery was founded in the early 20th century by Henri Lamarche and his wife, Marie Grivelet, both of whom hailed from Burgundy and had extensive experience in wine production. In 2019, the current owner, Nicole Lamarche, officially renamed the winery to Domaine Nicole Lamarche, and from the 2018 vintage onwards, the wines no longer bear the name of the former owner, François Lamarche.
