This Gevrey Chambertin is a superb match for game, roast meats, and rich poultry dishes. Consider roasted guinea fowl with wild mushrooms, pan-seared duck breast, or a classic beef bourguignon. For an Eastern pairing, try it with a slow-cooked Cantonese claypot chicken with shiitake mushrooms or a rich braised pork belly.

BACKGROUND
Domaine Denis Mortet is located in northern Burgundy and is famous for producing high-quality Pinot Noir wine. It is produced in a modern style and has a delicate taste. The domaine currently occupies 11.2 hectares (27 acres) and has also purchased part of the Le Chambertin Grand Cru vineyard. The winery was founded in 1956 when Charles Mortet purchased a hectare of vineyard and began selling fruit to merchants. Mortet's son Denis and his wife Laurence started working at the estate in 1978 and took over and established Domaine Denis Mortet in the early 1990s.
