🏰The 1990 vintage in Bordeaux is considered one of the greatest of the 20th century, producing wines of immense ripeness, concentration, and longevity. Château Margaux's Pavillon Rouge 1990 is a 【magnificent second wine from a First Growth estate, offering a glimpse into the grandeur of a legendary vintage at a mature stage】. Expect a wine with complex aromas of blackcurrant, plum, cedar, tobacco, and earthy notes, with a velvety texture, refined tannins, and a long, elegant finish that speaks of its age.
🍴 This mature Bordeaux is superb with classic French cuisine like roasted duck with cherry sauce, beef Wellington, or aged hard cheeses. For a Cantonese pairing, consider braised abalone with supreme oyster sauce or roasted goose.
🥂 An exceptional choice for a milestone anniversary, a serious wine collector's tasting, or a truly memorable experience for those who appreciate perfectly aged Bordeaux. Kindly remember that older vintages may have fragile corks and capsules, so open with care.
BACKGROUND
Château Margaux is one of Bordeaux's most famous wine estates, located just east of Margaux itself in the Médoc. Along with Lafite, Latour and Haut-Brion, it was rated as a first growth in the original 1855 Bordeaux Classification of the Médoc. There are also 12 hectares (30 acres) of Sauvignon Blanc to make Margaux's white offering, Pavillon Blanc, which must be sold as Bordeaux AOP, not Margaux. The red wines are fermented in a mix of traditional wooden and stainless steel vats; the grand vin sees between 18 and 26 months aging in new oak barrels.
