🏰The 2015 Delas Cornas Chante Perdrix is from an undeniably great vintage for Delas Frères, hailed as a big, rich, full-bodied, opulent, and sexy effort loaded with cassis and plum notes. This vintage is noted for being more balanced and polished than 2010, and the wine needs at least three years of cellaring to fully open up its complexity, with decanting recommended if kept longer. It displays an intense 【garnet red】 color. In its youth, it offers strong 【blackcurrant aromas】, which evolve over time to hints of 【pepper and liquorice】. The palate is structured with strongly-defined flavors. Expect expansive aromas of 【black and blue fruit preserves, smoky Indian spices, and olive, with a suave floral nuance】. It is deeply concentrated with 【blueberry and violet pastille flavors】 and building spiciness, loaded with notions of 【cassis, plums, saddle leather, and barbecue smoke】.
🍴 This powerful Cornas is an excellent pairing for lamb, mixed grills, wild mushrooms, and game (especially with spicy sauces). Users have also found it pairs well with slow-smoked beef ribs and any smoky or cheesy dish.
🥂 A fantastic choice for a celebratory dinner, a gathering of Rhône wine lovers, or a special occasion that calls for a powerful and aromatic red.
