FEATURES
🏰Eric Morgat's 2012 Anjou Litus is a captivating white wine, 100% Chenin Blanc, from a winemaker known for seeking roundness over the incisiveness of Chenin, farming organically on his terroir of unaltered hard spilite (volcanic rock). The 2012 vintage for the Loire Valley was challenging, with a cold, wet spring, frosts, and rain, but some good quality wines were still made.
This expressive wine is characterized by a 【medium body and refreshing acidity, offering delightful notes of crisp apple, zesty citrus, and a hint of stone fruit that dance on the palate】. The nose can present aromas of white peach, apple, mirabelle, passion fruit, and floral notes like acacia and verbena. On the palate, it's rich but dominated by the freshness of citrus (lime, kumquat) and fine mentholated flavors, leading to a tense and saline finish marked by aromatic precision. It's described as complex and elegant, with notes of vine peach and pear, along with distinct citrus and mineral undertones. It is full-bodied and savory.
🍴 Ideal with river fish, white meats, and asparagus. It also pairs well with chicken and turkey. Given its body and acidity, it would also complement seafood, sushi, and matured cheeses.
🥂 A beautifully crafted Anjou white wine, perfect for a sophisticated lunch, a seafood dinner, or for those who appreciate complex and elegant Chenin Blanc. It's a gastronomic wine with real aging potential.
