FEATURES
🏰 The 2021 Bethel Heights Pinot Noir Aeolian hails from the Eola-Amity Hills in Oregon's Willamette Valley, a region defined by its unique winds. The 2021 vintage was outstanding across the Willamette Valley, characterized by generous yields, excellent ripeness, and healthy fruit. Despite some early summer heat events, a cool September with rain showers allowed for an extended ripening period, enhancing flavor development. This wine is also certified organically grown, reflecting the winery's commitment to sustainable practices.
This Pinot Noir presents a bright ruby to pale ruby-purple color. On the nose, it offers a complex array of red fruits like cherry, rhubarb, and raspberry, intertwined with notes of anise, spices, lavender, quinine, woodsmoke, garrigue, pipe tobacco, tar, citrus peel, and sandalwood. The palate is light-bodied yet powerful, chalky and fresh, with a deep core of expressive red berry fruit. It's juicy and sleek, with supple, sweet, fine-grained tannins, well-balanced acidity, and attractive sour cherry and savory undertones. Expect a long, spice and earth-laced finish, with tremendous tension through the mid-palate. 【 Named for the Aeolian wind, this Pinot Noir is a pure and powerful expression of Bethel Heights' younger vineyard blocks and their commitment to certified organic farming. 】
🍴 This versatile Pinot Noir is an excellent food wine. It pairs beautifully with roasted chicken or turkey, veal, and game meats such as deer or venison. Its earthy and savory notes also make it a great match for mushroom dishes. For an Eastern pairing, consider a light char siu, roasted duck, or even a delicate Korean bulgogi.
🥂 This wine is perfect for a wide range of occasions, from a casual weeknight dinner to a more formal gathering. Its balance of purity and power makes it enjoyable now, but it also has the structure to age gracefully, with a recommended drinking window extending to 2038. It's an ideal choice for Pinot Noir lovers seeking an expressive and elegantly structured wine.
