Robert Groffier, Gevrey Chambertin Les Seuvrees, 2021
🏰The 2021 Domaine Robert Groffier Gevrey Chambertin Les Seuvrees is a highly acclaimed Pinot Noir from Burgundy, praised by critics like Wine Spectator (91 points) and Jasper Morris (90-92 points) for its 【bright, fresh, and elegant style with persistent length】. The 2021 vintage in Burgundy was characterized by a generally cool climate, leading to a slow maturation cycle that favored complex aromatic profiles, resulting in wines with freshness and structure. This particular wine showcases a brilliant ruby color and offers saturated aromas of pomegranate, earth, plum, and violets. On the palate, it delivers intense raspberry and cherry flavors, complemented by graphite and spice, with fine-grained tannins and a slightly chewy texture.
🍴 This elegant Gevrey-Chambertin pairs beautifully with matured ribeye steak, herb-crusted rack of lamb, or classic French cheeses like Époisses or creamy Brillat-Savarin. For a more casual yet sophisticated experience, consider roast duck or other game birds.
🥂 Perfect for important business meals, wedding anniversaries, or intimate gatherings with friends who appreciate quality Burgundy wines. It's a wine that promises to develop further complexity with a few more years of aging, with optimal drinking expected between 2026 and 2031, or even through 2040 according to some experts.
