Marcel Deiss, Gewurztraminer Selection De Grains Nobles, 2006
🏰 The 2006 Marcel Deiss Gewurztraminer Selection de Grains Nobles is a rare and exceptional sweet wine from Alsace, a vintage that, despite being generally average, produced some very good wines, especially for late harvest and dessert styles. The harvest for Vendanges Tardives and Sélections de Grains Nobles extended into October, and despite sporadic rains, careful selection yielded very good to exceptional Gewürztraminer. This particular Gewürztraminer from 2006 is noted for being particularly elegant and long-lived. Expect a wine with 【intense aromatic complexity and a luscious, concentrated sweetness】 balanced by refreshing acidity.
🍴 This opulent sweet wine is a sublime pairing for foie gras, blue cheeses like Roquefort, fruit tarts, or crème brûlée. For an Asian pairing, consider mango sticky rice, almond tofu, or even a delicate bird's nest soup.
🥂 Perfect for a grand dessert course, a special celebration, or as a luxurious digestif to conclude an unforgettable meal.
