FEATURES
🏰The 2010 P. Avril Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape is considered by some to be the 【greatest Clos des Papes ever】 and a wine that "flirts with perfection". This extraordinary vintage is potentially the finest since 1990 and 1978, with minuscule yields of just 16 hectoliters per hectare, making it a rare find. It boasts a dense ruby/purple color, offering gorgeously pure notes of black raspberry, black currant, and kirsch liqueur, intermixed with spring flowers, tapenade, licorice, and spice box. A meaty richness is also present, contributing to an extraordinarily intense, fresh, and lively wine that displays great finesse and elegance despite its inherent richness and power. Expect black cherries, black raspberries, spice, and floral notes like violets, with a seamless texture, full body, and an underlying minerality. The palate is massively concentrated, thick, rich, and textured, delivering serious tannins that are nonetheless perfectly balanced, ultra-pure, precise, and long.
🍴 This powerful and complex red wine is an ideal partner for all types of classic meat dishes, including veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, and roast chicken. It also excels with braised or stewed dishes, barbecue, sausage, cassoulet, and even hearty Asian dishes or mushroom-based pasta.
🥂 Perfect for grand celebrations, a significant milestone dinner, or a serious wine tasting. This wine has incredible aging potential, with a longevity of 30+ years. Young vintages benefit from decanting for 1-2 hours to allow the wine to soften and open its perfume.
