Faiveley, Bienvenues Batard Montrachet Grand Cru, 2016
🏰 The 2016 Faiveley Bienvenues Batard Montrachet Grand Cru is a highly esteemed white Burgundy, coming from a vintage that, despite challenging weather, produced 【wines of remarkable purity, freshness, and concentration, particularly for white wines】. While specific detailed tasting notes for this exact bottling are not readily available, Bienvenues Batard Montrachet Grand Cru wines from 2016 are generally characterized by their elegance, precision, and underlying power. The growing season saw a difficult spring with frost and hail, but a warm and dry summer allowed for good ripening. Expect a complex bouquet of white flowers, ripe orchard fruits, lemon curd, and a distinct minerality, often with subtle notes of toasted nuts and a creamy texture from careful oak aging. These wines are known for their exceptional aging potential.
🍴 This prestigious Grand Cru white Burgundy demands equally refined food pairings. Consider luxurious seafood dishes such as roasted scallops with a delicate herb butter, pan-seared turbot, or rich poultry like guinea fowl with a creamy mushroom sauce. It also pairs beautifully with sophisticated cheese platters featuring aged Comté or Gruyère.
🥂 This is a wine for significant celebrations, milestone anniversaries, or as a centerpiece for a serious fine wine tasting. Its inherent quality and aging potential make it a superb addition to any discerning collector's cellar. Serve lightly chilled, around 12-14°C (54-57°F), to allow its intricate aromas and flavors to fully express themselves. While enjoyable now, it will undoubtedly evolve and gain further complexity over the next decade or more.
