🏰 The 2016 vintage in the Southern Rhône is generally considered excellent, producing wines with good concentration and balance. While specific detailed notes for Gramenon's Côtes du Rhône Sierra du Sud 2016 are less abundant, Gramenon is known for its biodynamic practices and expressive, fruit-driven wines, often dominated by Grenache. Expect a wine with vibrant red and dark fruit characteristics, possibly hints of garrigue, spice, and a fresh acidity. The Sierra du Sud cuvée typically offers a pure expression of the Rhône terroir. 【 Biodynamic and expressive Southern Rhône 】.
🍴 This vibrant Côtes du Rhône would be a fantastic match for Mediterranean cuisine. Think grilled lamb chops with herbs, roasted chicken with olives and tomatoes, or a hearty ratatouille. It also pairs well with charcuterie boards, mild cheeses, and pasta dishes with rich, savory sauces.
🥂 Perfect for a casual dinner with friends, a summer barbecue, or a picnic in the countryside. Its approachable yet complex character makes it suitable for various relaxed social gatherings.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Gramenon Winery was founded in 1978 and is located in MOTBRISON-SUR-LEZ, Provence, Drôme. It is located at the first foothills of the Alps, at an altitude of 350 m. Located at the northernmost point of the southern Rhône Valley, it is built on siliceous and shell sandstone mixed with silt or clay that settled during the lull between floods and ebb tide activity, this molasses forming a massive subsoil.
