Ramonet, Chassagne Montrachet Les Morgeots Rouge 1er Cru, 2021
🏰 The 2021 Ramonet Chassagne Montrachet Les Morgeots Rouge 1er Cru offers a 【fresh and vibrant expression of Pinot Noir】 from a terroir more famously known for its white wines, showcasing the potential of a challenging yet rewarding Burgundy vintage. While specific reviews for this exact wine are still emerging, the 2021 Burgundy vintage is generally characterized by freshness and good acidity. Expect a wine with a lovely ruby hue. On the nose, anticipate inviting aromas of 【red fruits like cherry and raspberry, often intertwined with earthy, spicy, and subtle floral undertones】. The palate should be well-structured with fine tannins and a refreshing acidity, reflecting the elegance of Pinot Noir.
🍴 This delightful red Burgundy pairs beautifully with roasted poultry, pan-seared duck breast, various mushroom dishes, lighter game, or a selection of fine charcuterie.
🥂 A charming choice for a refined dinner party, a special occasion with friends, or a focused tasting exploring the nuances of red Burgundy.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Ramonet is a prominent wine producer in the Burgundy appellations of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, France. Ramonet owns more than 15 hectares (37 acres) of vineyards. The primary grape variety is Chardonnay, with a small amount of Pinot Noir also planted. The estate's most important wines are made from Chardonnay from the area's grand cru vineyards, and are highly collectible, often selling for high prices at auction. Domaine Ramonet makes several red wines from Pinot Noir as well. Domaine Ramonet is now run by Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet, following the death of their father Pierre in the mid-1990s.
