🏰 The 2011 Henri Germain Meursault Chevalières is a beautiful example of 【a mature Meursault, showcasing the rich, nutty, and mineral-driven character】 that makes this appellation so beloved. The 2011 vintage in Burgundy for white wines was generally good, producing wines with freshness and good acidity, allowing them to age gracefully and develop complex tertiary aromas. Expect a captivating bouquet of toasted almonds, hazelnut, lemon curd, and a distinct stony minerality. On the palate, it will be full-bodied and textural, with a lovely balance of richness and acidity, leading to a long, savory finish.
🍴 This sophisticated white Burgundy pairs wonderfully with rich seafood and poultry. Consider roasted chicken with herbs, pan-seared foie gras, or a creamy lobster bisque. For an Asian pairing, try steamed crab with ginger and spring onion, or a rich abalone dish. It also complements aged Comté or Gruyère cheese.
🥂 This wine is ideal for a 【gourmet dinner, a special celebration, or a quiet evening of indulgence】 where you want to experience the beauty of aged white Burgundy.
Serving an older wine like this 2011 vintage requires a bit of care. The cork might be fragile, so use a good quality corkscrew. Decanting for 30-60 minutes can help it open up and allow any sediment to settle, but be mindful not to over-aerate, as very old wines can fade quickly. Serve slightly chilled, around 12-14°C (54-57°F), to best appreciate its complex aromas and flavors.
