Prince Florent De Merode, Pommard Clos De La Platiere 1er Cru, 2005
🏰 The 2005 vintage in Burgundy is widely celebrated as an 【outstanding year for red wines】, offering superb concentration, balance, and excellent aging potential. This Prince Florent de Merode Pommard Clos de la Platiere 1er Cru from 2005 showcases the vintage's prowess. Expect a complex bouquet of dark berries, black cherry, and earthy undertones, evolving with notes of forest floor, truffle, and subtle spice. The palate is structured with firm yet integrated tannins and vibrant acidity, leading to a long, elegant finish.
🍴 This robust red Burgundy pairs beautifully with classic French dishes like Coq au Vin, roasted duck with cherry sauce, beef bourguignon, or pan-seared venison. For a Cantonese twist, try it with braised oxtail in a rich sauce or roasted goose. Western pairings include prime rib or aged hard cheeses.
🥂 Perfect for a celebratory dinner, a special anniversary, or as a prized addition to any serious Burgundy collector's cellar. It's also an excellent choice for a vertical tasting to appreciate its evolution.
