🏰Maison Leroy Gevrey-Chambertin 2013 embodies the uncompromising viticulture and deft touch of Lalou Bize-Leroy, producing wines that truly express the richness and power of their terroir. While 2013 was a challenging red Burgundy vintage with cold, wet weather and hail in some areas, the Côte de Nuits, home to Gevrey-Chambertin, fared better, yielding charming red fruit wines with notable freshness and fragrance. Expect a 【classic Gevrey-Chambertin profile with fine terroir definition, intensity, and purity of flavor】. The palate is dense, opening with juicy, savory black fruit, supported by a spicy, full-bodied tannic structure, and a deep finish lingering on ripe, fine-grained tannins enveloped in red fruit, with a trail of graphite.
🍴 This elegant red Burgundy is a superb match for roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses, particularly braised lamb with garlic and gravy sauce.
🥂 The 2013 red Burgundies are generally considered delicious and rewarding for earlier drinking, making this an excellent choice to enjoy now rather than for extended cellaring. It's perfect for a sophisticated dinner or a special gathering.
