🏰 Senhora do Convento's 20 Year Old Tawny Port offers an 【opulent and voluptuous nose of complex spicy, jammy, and nutty aromas】, with hints of orange flower and a fine oakiness from its long cask aging. This superb example of aged tawny Port is a blend of individual wines from different vintages, aged in oak casks for an average of 20 years, during which time they develop their distinctive tawny hue and concentrated nutty flavors. Expect an intense amber tawny color. The palate is full of very rich and concentrated flavor, with notes of dried apricots, honey, nuts, spices, and vanilla, leading to a long, mellow, and smooth finish.
🍴 This versatile tawny Port is an excellent accompaniment to many desserts, especially those with flavors of figs, almonds, and caramel. It pairs beautifully with crème brûlée, pecan pie, or a plate of wild strawberries. It can also be appreciated on its own at the end of a meal with walnuts or dried fruit, or even with aged, nutty cheeses like cheddar or Stilton.
🥂 Ideal as an after-dinner drink, a sophisticated digestif, or for a relaxed evening with friends and dessert. It's ready to drink upon release and does not require decanting. The wine benefits from being served slightly chilled, between 12ºC (54ºF) to 16ºC (61ºF), which can help to balance its sweetness and highlight its complex aromas.
