🏰 From the esteemed Jacques Prieur, this 2020 Meursault Clos de Mazeray is a 【rich and complex expression of Chardonnay from a monopole vineyard】, reflecting the excellent 2020 Burgundy white vintage known for its ripeness and freshness. Expect a wine with 【inviting aromas of ripe yellow fruit, such as pear and peach, often intertwined with notes of hazelnut, toasted almond, and a delicate buttery richness, underpinned by a distinct minerality】. The palate is typically 【full-bodied and opulent, with a creamy texture, balanced by vibrant acidity, leading to a long, harmonious, and complex finish】 that showcases the depth of Meursault.
🍴 This elegant white Burgundy pairs exquisitely with roasted chicken, rich fish dishes (like salmon or cod), creamy pasta, foie gras, and aged Comté cheese.
🥂 An elegant choice for a celebratory dinner, a special seafood meal, or for cellaring to develop further complexity and tertiary aromas.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jacques Prieur is a relatively large Burgundy producer that makes both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from esteemed vineyard holdings across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, France. The history of the domaine began in the 1860s, with the marriage of Claude Duvergey and Marie Taboureau. They first established the wine and spirits merchant business, Duvergey-Taboureau House, before buying property in Meursault – now the site of the modern Domaine Jacques Priuer.
