De La Vougeraie, Gevrey Chambertin Les Evocelles, 2020
🏰 The 2020 Burgundy vintage was an outstanding year, producing wines of exceptional quality, particularly for reds like this Gevrey-Chambertin. Despite a warm and dry growing season with reduced yields for Pinot Noir, the wines exhibit vibrant acidity and remarkable freshness. An early budburst and flowering, followed by a hot summer, led to an early harvest. Winemakers observed that the drought conditions concentrated the fruit, flavors, and acidity, resulting in wines that are notably fresh, pure, elegant, and focused. De La Vougeraie's 'Les Evocelles' is a prime example of this, offering a concentrated yet airy profile. 【A concentrated yet fresh and elegant Gevrey-Chambertin from the exceptional 2020 Burgundy vintage】
While specific tasting notes for De La Vougeraie Gevrey Chambertin Les Evocelles 2020 are not readily available, general characteristics for 2020 Red Burgundy suggest a wine with clarity, fluidity, and cool-fruited concentration. It is likely to offer a beautiful expression of Pinot Noir, with potential for further development in the cellar.
🍴 This fine Gevrey-Chambertin pairs wonderfully with classic Burgundy red wine pairings such as pâté en croûte, roasted duck breast, pan-seared game birds, mushroom-based dishes, and a selection of soft, earthy cheeses. It also complements roasted chicken and lighter veal preparations.
🥂 This wine is an excellent choice for a discerning palate, suitable for special dinners, intimate gatherings, or as a thoughtful gift for a Burgundy enthusiast. Its youthful vitality can be enjoyed now, or it can be cellared to allow its complex layers to unfold further over time.
