Anne Gros, Clos Vougeot Le Grand Maupertui Grand Cru, 2000
🏰 The 2000 vintage for red Burgundy was generally good, producing wines with ripe tannins and good fruit. The Anne Gros Clos Vougeot Le Grand Maupertui Grand Cru 2000 is characterized by impressive fullness and power, tempered by ripe tannins. It presents a velvet purple color, typical of beautiful Pinot Noir. Expect pronounced aromas of black fruit, such as ripe cherry, plum, and blackcurrant, alongside spices like pepper, cloves, and nutmeg. As it ages, a candied element develops, in addition to complex secondary aromas associated with meaty nuances. The wine moves across the tongue with harmony and fullness, even a certain elegance underneath its Romanesque character. 【An archetype of beautiful Pinot Noir with excellent aging potential】.
🍴 This Grand Cru Burgundy leans towards richer dishes. Consider pairings such as roasted red meat with berries or fruit, red meat in sauce, game with sorrel, red currant jam, or mild cheeses.
🥂 Ideal for a significant milestone celebration, a formal dinner, or a special tasting event for Burgundy enthusiasts. Its age and Grand Cru status make it a wine to be savored and appreciated.
